Compassionate Care for New Parents After Baby Arrives
The postpartum period is a time of healing, adjustment, and growth. You deserve support that feels calm, respectful, and empowering.
When Home Feels Harder Than You Expected

Bringing a baby home is beautiful—but it can also feel overwhelming, exhausting, and emotional. Postpartum with Kayla provides in-home postpartum doula support for families in Central Illinois communities, helping parents rest, recover, and feel confident during the early weeks after birth.
As a postpartum doula, I offer emotional support, newborn care education, and hands-on help tailored to your family’s needs. You don’t have to do everything alone—and you shouldn’t.
When You Need a Doula the Most
Here are the most common pain points moms share:
You’re running on fumes… and everyone thinks you should be “fine” by now
You can’t tell what’s normal anymore—and Googling makes it worse
The toddler years are loud, messy, and relentless—and you’re carrying it all
A doula isn’t there to judge you or hand you a checklist. They’re there to support you with calm guidance, practical help, and reassurance when you’re running low. Because you weren’t meant to do postpartum or the toddler years alone—and you don’t have to.
You Deserve Support That Actually Helps
Pregnancy and birth get all the attention—but what happens after is where many moms quietly struggle. The days blur together. Sleep disappears. Your body is still healing. And somehow, you’re expected to “figure it out” while caring for a brand-new human… and maybe a toddler, too. If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, touched-out, or like you’re barely keeping up, you’re not alone—and you don’t need to carry it by yourself.

Postpartum Doula Care Options
When the baby arrives, everyone checks in for a week or two… and then the world expects you to bounce back. But real life at home can feel like a nonstop loop of feeding, soothing, cleaning, and trying to sleep—while your body heals and your emotions swing in directions you didn’t expect.
You deserve support that actually shows up.

Nighttime Postpartum Support
Overnight support allows parents to get the rest they truly need. Night support is ideal for families looking to protect sleep and support recovery.
Frequently Asked Questions About Postpartum Doula Support
What does a postpartum doula do?
A postpartum doula supports families after baby arrives by providing emotional support, newborn care education, and hands-on help in the home. This can include feeding support, soothing baby, light household help related to baby, meal prep, sibling support, and helping parents rest and recover. Postpartum doulas are not medical providers or nannies—they focus on empowering parents and building confidence during the postpartum period.
When should I hire a postpartum doula?
Many families hire a postpartum doula before baby arrives to ensure support is in place. However, you can also reach out after birth if you’re feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or simply want extra support. Postpartum care is helpful at any point during the first weeks or months after delivery.
Do you support breastfeeding and bottle feeding?
Yes. I offer non-medical feeding support for breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and combination feeding. My role is to help you feel confident, supported, and informed—without judgment—while working alongside your healthcare providers when needed.
Is a postpartum doula the same as a nanny or night nurse?
No. A postpartum doula is not a nanny or medical night nurse. My focus is on supporting the entire family, educating parents, and helping with recovery and adjustment after birth. The goal is to empower you so you feel confident caring for your baby long after my support ends.
Do you offer overnight postpartum care?
Yes. I offer nighttime postpartum doula support, which allows parents to get much-needed rest. Overnight care can include feedings, diaper changes, soothing baby, and calm reassurance during nighttime hours.
