Meet Kayla Clark – Postpartum Doula in Central Illinois

Hi, I’m Kayla Clark, a postpartum doula based in Central Illinois, supporting families through one of the most tender and transformative seasons of life.

I’m 31, married to my best friend of 10 years, and a proud pet mama to a sweet dog and two cats. When I’m not caring for new families, you’ll usually find me enjoying a peaceful day at the lake, spending quality time with loved ones, or participating in volunteer ministry work—which is very close to my heart

Supporting parents after baby arrives is not just my work—it’s a privilege. I’m honored to walk alongside families as they recover, adjust, and grow in confidence during the postpartum period.

My Heart for Postpartum Support
The weeks after birth are filled with change—physically, emotionally, and mentally. Many parents are expected to “figure it out” while running on little sleep and limited support. That’s where I come in.

Emotional reassurance and calm support

I don’t take over—I support you, empower you, and help you feel confident in your own parenting instincts.

Postpartum doulas are not medical providers or nannies. My role is to support recovery, rest, and confidence while working alongside your existing care team.

Frequently Asked Questions About Postpartum Doula Support

  • What does a postpartum doula do?

A postpartum doula supports families after baby arrives by providing emotional support, newborn care education, and hands-on help in the home. This can include feeding support, soothing baby, light household help related to baby, meal prep, sibling support, and helping parents rest and recover. Postpartum doulas are not medical providers or nannies—they focus on empowering parents and building confidence during the postpartum period.

  • When should I hire a postpartum doula?

Many families hire a postpartum doula before baby arrives to ensure support is in place. However, you can also reach out after birth if you’re feeling overwhelmed, exhausted, or simply want extra support. Postpartum care is helpful at any point during the first weeks or months after delivery.

  • Do you support breastfeeding and bottle feeding?

Yes. I offer non-medical feeding support for breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and combination feeding. My role is to help you feel confident, supported, and informed—without judgment—while working alongside your healthcare providers when needed.

  • Is a postpartum doula the same as a nanny or night nurse?

No. A postpartum doula is not a nanny or medical night nurse. My focus is on supporting the entire family, educating parents, and helping with recovery and adjustment after birth. The goal is to empower you so you feel confident caring for your baby long after my support ends.

  • Do you offer overnight postpartum care?

Yes. I offer nighttime postpartum doula support, which allows parents to get much-needed rest. Overnight care can include feedings, diaper changes, soothing baby, and calm reassurance during nighttime hours.
