Postpartum with Kayla Bloomington Illinois
Effective date: November 2, 2026
Postpartum with Kayla (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is an in-home postpartum doula service based in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois, owned and operated by Kayla Clark. We know families trust us during one of the most personal seasons of their lives, and we take that trust seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to postpartumwithkayla.com and to information you share with us by phone, text, email, or in person as a prospective or current client.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly
- Contact form submissions: your name, email address, phone number, and the message you send.
- Inquiries and communication: anything you share by phone, text, or email, such as your due date or baby’s birth date, your general location, and the kind of support you’re looking for.
- Client details: if you book care, we may collect your home address, the names of household members (including your baby and older siblings), feeding preferences, scheduling needs, emergency contacts, and other information that helps us support your family.
- Health-related information you choose to share: families sometimes share details about birth experience, recovery, feeding, or emotional wellbeing. We only use this to provide non-medical support, and we never require you to share more than you’re comfortable with.
- Payment information: if you pay electronically, your payment is handled by a third-party payment processor. We do not store full card numbers.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our website, our hosting platform and analytics tools may automatically collect basic technical information, such as your browser type, device type, IP address, approximate location (city or region), pages viewed, and how you arrived at our site. This helps us understand how families find us and improve the site.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Respond to your questions and check availability
- Schedule, plan, and provide postpartum doula care
- Communicate with you before, during, and after your care
- Process payments and keep basic business records
- Improve our website and services
- Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
3. Text Messaging (SMS)
If you give us your phone number, we may contact you by phone or text about your inquiry, scheduling, and care. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out of text messages, or HELP for help. Opting out of texts will not affect your care; we’ll simply use phone or email instead.
We do not share your phone number or text messaging consent with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only when needed to run our business or when required by law:
- Service providers: trusted companies that help us operate, such as our website host, email provider, scheduling tools, and payment processor. They may only use your information to provide services to us.
- With your permission: for example, if you ask us to coordinate with a lactation consultant or another provider.
- Safety and legal reasons: if required by law, court order, or legal process, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the safety of a parent, child, or anyone else.
- Business transfer: if the business is ever sold or transferred, client information may be transferred as part of that transaction and will remain protected under this policy.
5. Health Information and HIPAA
Postpartum with Kayla provides non-medical support. We are not a healthcare provider, health plan, or healthcare clearinghouse, so we are not a “covered entity” under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Even so, we treat any health-related information you share as confidential. We use it only to support your family and do not disclose it without your permission, except as described in Section 4.
6. Children’s Privacy
Our website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. Information about your baby or older children is provided by you, as the parent or guardian, and is used only to provide care for your family. If you believe a child has submitted information through our website, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Cookies and Analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working properly and to understand how visitors use it. We may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console, which collect information in aggregate. You can learn how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as intended if cookies are disabled. Our site does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.
8. How Long We Keep Information
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purposes in this policy:
- Inquiries that don’t lead to booking: generally deleted within 12 months.
- Client records: kept for as long as needed to provide care and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements, then securely deleted.
You may ask us to delete your information sooner, subject to any legal requirements.
9. How We Protect Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including password-protected accounts and limiting access to client details. No method of storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work hard to protect your family’s privacy. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by Illinois law, including the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act.
